UL and LI in Text Widget
-
I apologize that I can’t find the answer to this question, as I’m sure it has been asked a million times.
the HTML version of “ul” and “li”
do not work in a text widget
this seems really weird to me since the HTML appears in the source code as one would expect and where one would expect — only it does not change the appearance of the text in the text widget
there are several plugins to create lists in widgets, so it is a known problem, but I need to INCLUDE lists in a text widget, as one would in any regular content that had some text, and then a list, and then more text, and another list
is there a solution to this please post it
THANK YOU !!!!!

Looks like you need to look into CSS (The manner in which an HTML element, like
<li>
displays in browsers):To discover what CSS is output by your theme, use a web inspection tool such as Firebug: http://getfirebug.com/ , Chrome Inspect Element: https://developers.google.com/chrome-developer-tools/ or Internet Explorer 9+ F12 Dev. Tools: http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/dd565627(v=vs.85).aspx#csstool
There are others.
When editing CSS, use a Child Theme
http://codex.wordpress.org/Child_Themes
Custom CSS Plugin, or Theme provided custom CSS option.
Edits to parent themes are lost on theme update.Learn CSS: http://www.w3schools.com/css/
Without a site link we can only provide ‘how to’s.
You’re awesome! Thank you for taking the time to help me.
“Display” was the clue I needed — all I had to do was insert CSS to format a list in the child theme, and viola, the lists were all formatted!
you can see your advice at work in the left hand footer of this site:
