• I have 2 separate sites operating on the WordPress 3.0.1 platform, my website and my blog. I have had no problems, I’ve been using plugins on the blog and none on my main. I upgraded from 3.0 to 3.0.1 with no problems. Then out of the blue, I’m having all kinds of problems on both. In Mozilla Firefox I can open a new post but cannot select the Body in order to write text (but can type in a title). The same goes for pages. Nor can I create new categories from the post, nor can I add tags. In IE I can type in the Body section, but text shows up white (making editing rather difficult). Having the same problem with categories and tags, also cannot insert images. Every time I try any of these in either browser it just says ‘error on page’ at the bottom. I have different themes by different authors on each. They are both running off the same domain but in separate directories.

I hope I’ve been detailed enough. Does anyone have any ideas? I couldn’t find anything referencing the problem in the forums or documents, I apologize in advance if I missed something. Thank you.

    try:

If you have access to your admin panel, try deactivating all plugins. If you don’t have access to your admin panel, try manually resetting your plugins. If that resolves the issue, reactivate each one individually until you find the cause.

If your blog showed no signs of improvement after deactivating your plugins, then it’s time to move on to your currently active theme. If you have access to your admin panel, try switching to the Default theme (WordPress 1.5 – 2.9.2) or the Twenty Ten theme (WordPress 3.0 and higher). If you don’t have access to your admin panel, access your server via FTP or SFTP, navigate to /wp-content/themes/ and rename the directory of your currently active theme. This will force the Default theme (Twenty Ten theme) to activate and hopefully rule-out a theme-specific issue.

Unfortunately neither of those things worked. Sorry.

Try downloading WordPress again and delete then replace your copies of everything except the wp-config.php file and the /wp-content/ directory with fresh copies from the download. This will effectively replace all of your core files without damaging your content and settings. Some uploaders tend to be unreliable when overwriting files, so don’t forget to delete the original files before replacing them.
