# two URLs are accessing same post

 * I have created many posts and need them to maintain the same url/permalink structure
   for seo.
    My original permalink structure was Date and name: /%year%/%monthnum%/%
   day%/%postname%/ In a mindless moment, I updated the permalink to Custom: /%postname%/
   I changed it back a couple of hours later but now I have two urls pointing to
   the same post. How do I get rid of the Custom URL pointing to the post?

 * Those are just vestiges of the different permalink settings you’ve used with 
   the current one being the only one you need to worry with or reference when promoting
   on your own.
 * Your RSS feeds and sitemaps are using the permalinks with the date (as you wish)
   but WordPress still honors the earlier URLs to avoid problems from links built
   before the present setting.
 * Just make sure that you only reference the present permalink style URLs as rendered
   by WordPress itself.
 * You might also want to check your htaccess file to make sure there are no unnecessary
   rewrite rules lingering there but I’d just leave things as they are.
