Two questions about themes. (2 posts)

I just installed WordPress on anhosting using their auto-installer. For reasons beyond my control I'd like to set up a blog without comments. That is, I'd like it not only to disallow comments, but to not even show the links at the bottom of a post. So:

How do I edit templates and themes, and exactly what do I edit in order to eliminate the comments links, and disallow comments.

Why am I doing this? It's a blog used at work and the boss doesn't want comments, or even a link. Not my choice, but there it is.

In your Opitons, Discussion panel you uncheck the option "Allow people to post comments on the article" so that's the default used when people are writing posts.

Using the default theme as an example, in the wp-conent/themes/default/index.php file you would delete the reference to the comments_popup_link function. This assume you want no reference to comments (off or on) displayed to visitors.
