Two Newbie Questions

    Hello.

    Just learning wordpress and installed a blog on my site.

    I have two quick questions:
    1)
    I am using the Oxygen theme and want to know how I would put a big phone number on the top right of each and every page on my blog… right now there is just a white space where a phone number would be perfect.

    2)
    How do I stick an image to a post? If you look here, you will see all posts have a banner image

    but if you then go to the category page, the images for each post are gone.

    1)

    Go to Appearance > Widgets and then drag a Text widget into Sidebar Header. Put the phone number into the text widget and click save.

    2)

    In the editing post screen, assign the uploaded image as Featured image of that post.

    #2 worked a treat, but #1 is not quite right.

    I really would like the text to be big and bold… much larger than it currently is, and I really would like it at the top of the page, in the white space all the way to the right of my logo.

    One more question… wordpress is taking the same image and using it in the index pages, and on the post page itself, but is cropping in the page view.

    Should I be uploading two different resolutions? Seems a lot of work to do that… is there an easier way to display the image on the post page in the same format as it is displaying on the index listings page?

    Make sure to drag that Text widget into the Sidebar Header. There are many sidebar (widget) areas, we need to use the one in the header.

    Regarding the image size, this is by design and there is no easy way to change it. I personally recommend to leave it as is, it’s more beautiful and make more sense this way.
