  • Hi eldenroot,

Because Twitter and Facebook are the two most frequently used social media networks and multisharing was a common feature request (particularly for these two services), we have left this available via the Twitter button, which benefits both your readers and you as a publisher, if you choose to use it.

This multisharing interface accessed through the Twitter button was integrated before the v7 release, but we didn’t receive negative feedback until after the same share panel was introduced to the Facebook share button. We have since reverted Facebook sharing to be routed through the standard Facebook interface, but the multishare panel that you can access through the Twitter button has been integrated into all of our products, which we are currently working to streamline.

We still have many enhancements planned while we continue to work on our products, including our WordPress plugin, and we do listen to and appreciate any and all feedback received from our publisher community.

Yes, but it would be better to add one extra button for share everywhere by one click… 95% of visitors dont login for this, because it could be dangerous… so they dont use twitter button 😀 only facebook and google +

    Hey eldenroot,

The connection with our app to Twitter (OAuth) was in place years before the multi-share panel was added. We use Twitter as a third-party developer; so, even if Facebook is removed from the Twitter share panel, we would still be using OAuth for Twitter connection (the user has to authorize our application to connect and performing the sharing action on their behalf), which is completely safe as we conform to Twitter’s third-party development standard practices and usage guidelines.

The reason we paired Facebook and Twitter is because they are the top two sharing networks reflected in our usage data as well as services that utilize OAuth, which is an open standard for authorization. Many WP plugins and applications connect via OAuth, such as HootSuite. You can also view which apps are connected to your Twitter account on the Apps screen of your Twitter Settings panel and revoke access to any of them at any time: https://twitter.com/settings/applications

I would like to add my voice to those unhappy with the OAuth need for Twitter. This is just asking most of my visitors to take an extra step to do something that should be very easy.

This issue is the single reason I can’t use this plugin now and won’t recommend it to anyone else.

@djosephdesign This feature is now live! The multishare panel can now be toggled on/off. Go to “General Website Settings” -> Share Button settings. Enjoy!

Oh! I didn’t see that on your site. Thank you!
