    Hello there,

Have been using the plugin for a little bit now and I am wondering if you might be able to answer a couple questions. First off I can never get the twitter card checker to work. It does not even see the card as large summary image but comes up as summary and the image is never there. Ever.

I was reading around and I saw something like the code for the twitter card image should be:

The Twitter Cards specifications indicate that “twitter:image:src” should be used, so “twitter:image” seems to have been dropped or was a mistake.

any validity to that.. cause when I check my card in other places it says no twitter card image was found dropping back to og_image backup.

I just want to get this working.. There comes a time when you just start to get tired of things not working.. lol

Thanks for any and all help.. Appreciated and thanks for a great plugin easy to use.

    Hello,

    Thanks for reaching out.

I will gladly support you with your request.
Issues with images are often caused by missing or conflicting metadata (open graph tags / twitter cards).
The social media will always display the information they find in the source code of your post on your website.

The following guides show you exactly how to check your source code:
What are open graph tags and what do I use them for?
    What are Twitter Cards?
Link Preview – Troubleshooting checklist and solutions for setting Open Graph Tags

May I ask you if you want to share “image” or “link” posts on Twitter?
Did you tick the boxes for “Meta Tags Settings” in your Blog2Social settings?
You can check this by clicking on “Settings” -> “Social Meta Data” in Blog2Social.

If you are still facing issues afterwards, please be so kind as to send me a link to a post that you shared on Twitter so I can take a closer look at this for you.

Thanks for the reply.. I am able to post a tweet at twitter and it has the information it needs and yes I did select the meta tag settings. If you look at my website and then check source code you can see that your code is there.

The problem is not that it won’t post to twitter it is that twitter itself does not validate the card on the dev twitter card check.. If you google that you will get to the twitter card checker. Please put in my url above and see the out put. It does not match the meta information at my site.

Now this could be a caching issues on the web.. maybe but then when I check it some place else it says that it cannot find the twitter image and reverts back to the OG_image as fallback. Thankfully they are the same otherwise twitter would be using facebooks image..

I am curious if the twitter imagesrc would fix this issue..

I think with your plugin since the posts to twitter and facebook work people are just happy with that. However, the settings should also provide the required information for things like messenger, whatsapp, slack, discord, etc.. link previews and right now this plugin does not provide previews for links in some of those.

Thanks again.. just letting you know what I found out in my testing.

    Hello,

    Thanks for your feedback.

May I ask you if I understand correctly that you are facing the issue of missing images on Twitter?

Did you try sharing other link posts than this one on Twitter (https://gumdropgoblins.com)?
Please note: Twitter stores the Card parameters of a link for up to 7 days. Changes may not be immediately visible on Twitter.

In addition, when checking your website with the “Twitter Card Validator” I’m receiving the following result:
    https://prnt.sc/1vug7ha

In your source code I also noticed that the open graph tags / twitter cards on your website are not generated from Blog2Social:
    https://prnt.sc/1vugdr6

I’m looking forward to your reply.

    Hello there,

Again, thanks for the reply.. However, that code above is most definitely being generated by Blog2Social. When I deactivate your plugin it goes away.

I have nothing else, no other plugin that would add that data to my site.

I have tested pretty much everything I can think of everywhere there is..

    Hello,

    Thanks for your reply.

Blog2Social adds an “generated by Blog2Social” in your source code if it was created by Blog2Social.
I attached an example for you:
    https://prnt.sc/1vysff4

Did you already try sharing other posts/links of your website on Twitter?
What do you mean by “twitter:image:src” should be used?

I’m looking forward to your reply.
