  • Are you sure that the plugin is activated?

There’s usually a “This site is optimized with the Yoast WordPress SEO plugin” imessage n the page source when the plugin is enabled, but that’s not happening on your site.

If you’re positive that the plugin is enabled, check if the same thing happens if you temporarily switch themes to Twenty Fourteen.

Thanks Gary, yeah the plugin is enabled and all other aspects of WordPress SEO seem to be working perfectly, it’s just the Twitter cards that are causing a problem. I would rather not switch themes, is there any other way that I can check?
    Thanks again.

The point of temporarily switching themes is to check if your current theme is the problem.

There’s no real method of ruling out a conflict with a theme without changing it.

If Twitter cards appear in Twenty Fourteen, it means there’s a conflict with your theme.

If Twitter cards don’t appear for you in Twenty Fourteen, there may be a conflict with one of your other plugins (you can test this by temporarily disabling them), or it’s possible that the issue is a user error configuring WordPress SEO.

FWIW, Twitter cards function for me in any theme I’ve used.

I am having the same problem, I tried a different theme, deactivated all the plugins and nothing is working. Jetpack is installed and generates a basic twitter:site tag but no card type tag. Twitter Card Validator is able to see the site and 12 metatags, but doesn’t see any twitter card. SEO doesn’t generate any twitter tags at all. Any ideas as to why?

Nevermind. I realized that the Validator wanted a URL to an actual post, not the URL to my homepage. All is good now.
