    Hello Team Yoast,

    I am not sure what happened. I recently changes severs (12ish days back) and around 4-5 days ago Twitter card stopped showing the images for my website articles. I have tried to resolve the issue with Twitter’s card validator and it says there is no issue with fetching the image amongst other things but does NOT display the image. The weird thing is if I try links from my staging website, they usually work (mostly). Also, Insta, Linked In and Facebook show the images for my live website perfectly. So I am really unsure what has happened. I have always had Open Graph enabled and also Twitter card is enabled. My twitter account is correctly added on yoast as well. Please help!

    My website is http://www.paradigshift.com.pk
    My twitter is https://twitter.com/ParadigmShiftPK
    Myh staging website is https://wordpress-601622-1957785.cloudwaysapps.com/

    Warm regards

    @hbk747 We’re sorry to hear you are experiencing this issue on your site.

    We checked on both the staging site and the main site, and for both we aren’t seeing a twitter:image meta tag being output. We do an og:image being output for both though, and this should be used by Twitter in the absence of twitter:image.

    However, for the staging site the og:image appears to be showing an absolute URL for the image:

    <meta property="og:image" content="http://wordpress-601622-1957785.cloudwaysapps.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/03/ParadigmShift-Logo-V2.png" />

    Whereas the live site is using the following:

    <meta property="og:image" content="//601622-1954785-raikfcquaxqncofqfm.stackpathdns.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/03/ParadigmShift-Logo-V2.png" />

    This appears to be causing the Twitter card validator to not be able to read the image URL of og:image.

    Hello

    That url is the cdn url…Hmmm.

    what should I do?

    How can I add the “twitter:image” meta tag u mentioned.

    Should I remove the CDN?

    Edit: Also if the og:image is using the cdn url, then why does facebook and the others work?

    Thanks for your prompt reply

    Hi @hbk747

    Twitter should use the og:image tag, but you’ll need to upload a separate image in the image field of the Twitter section of the social tab in the Yoast SEO meta box if you want it to output a twitter:image tag.

    We checked on 2 similar posts from your staging and live site https://wordpress-601622-1957785.cloudwaysapps.com/united-states-involvement-in-libya/ & https://www.paradigmshift.com.pk/united-states-involvement-in-libya/ and when running the URL of the live site of the Twitter Card Validator, it looks like it is picking up the image and showing the summary with large image card preview.

    Upon checking the page source, the og:image URL seems to be using the absolute URL now. Could you check if this issue has now been resolved and the social previews for Twitter are showing correctly as expected?

    @mikes41720 Hello
    I had to disconnect my cdn and that fixed it.
    I am in talks with my webhost so we can resolve this issue (with cdn active)

    thank you
