Support » Plugin: Custom Twitter Feeds (Tweets Widget) » Twitter card icon and link not working unless tweets to display set to > 0

  • In the website I’m working in we wanted to display the twitter card of the company without any tweets, allowing the user to load the tweets by clicking on the “load more” button if they wanted. However, when setting “tweets to display” to 0 in the configuration, the icon’s src becomes “(unknown)” and the links to the twitter account don’t work. It gets the description just fine though.

    We are setting the “tweets to display” to 1 for the time being, but thought that I’d give a heads up in case I found a bug!

    Hey Sandra,

    Ahh yes I suppose we hadn’t thought of a use case like this. It makes sense though!

    What you could do is set the number of tweets to whatever you’d like. Then use this JavaScript to hide all tweets initially and then reveal them when the load more button is clicked:

    if (!jQuery('.ctf').hasClass('ctf-initial-hide')) {
        jQuery('.ctf').addClass('ctf-initial-hide');
        jQuery('.ctf-item').hide();
    } else {
        jQuery('.ctf-item').show();
    }

    You will want to add this to the “Custom JavaScript” area on the “Customize” tab.
