Recently noticed my Search is NOT working in my child theme for Twenty Eleven. Feel free to give it a try: http://www.eparrs.com/ProudParr/sample-page/

Searching just sends visitors back to the loading or home page, no matter WHAT is typed in the search box :-(

Have to admit, this option was NOT tested before launching the site (BAD Trish!)... and will serve as an example to correct my behaviour here on out!

    Suggestions will be greatly appreciated.

the site is using a hardcoded html front page; this is 'blocking' the search results from 'finding' the right template.

    a possible solution:
create a page template with exactly the same html content plus the necessary php header - http://codex.wordpress.org/Pages#Creating_Your_Own_Page_Templates

then create a page or use one of the pages of your site to set as static home page; http://codex.wordpress.org/Creating_a_Static_Front_Page

attribute the new page template to that page under dashboard - pages - edit page: 'page attributes' - 'templates'
