[resolved] twenty twelve .site-header: remove top space in Safari and Chrome; not Firefox (5 posts)

I'm trying to align the top of .site-header across
    -Safari 6.0.2
    -Chrome 23.0.1271.95
    -Firefox 17.0.1

In Safari and Chrome, there is about 5px space above .site-header and the top of the browser window.

In Firefox, .site-header is flush against the top.

Can anyone see what is adding the space in Safari and Chrome?

Please advise how to remove it.

(I would prefer not to use absolute positioning for .site-header if possible.)

Do not edit the Twenty Twelve theme. It will be the default theme in WordPress 3.5 and having access to an unedited version of the theme is vital when dealing with a range of site issues. First create a child theme for your changes. Or use a custom CSS plugin.

After you have the above set up, you'll need to post a link to your site for help with CSS questions.

It is a child theme here:

OK I had to remove relative positioning of the search box. That was pushing it down.

    Absolute positioning it is!
