Twenty Twelve Front Page

  • Just started with WordPress and using the TwentyTwelve Theme. I’ve seen some reviews showing the top of the frontpage in two colums with text to the left and an image to the right, with a further two colums underneath containing widgets. When I create my front page the text wants to be below or above the image, how can I get the text to sit to the left of an image. I know this is likely to be basic, I’m just starting and also only have a basic knowledge of CSS.

    @alchymyth

    start by setting a static front page;
    http://codex.wordpress.org/Creating_a_Static_Front_Page

    then, the theme has a ‘Front Page Template’ page template which you can use in the ‘page attribute’ when you edit the page which you have set as static front page.

    btw and important:

    do not edit the default theme Twenty Twelve directly, but create a child theme http://codex.wordpress.org/Child_Themes for any customisations of the templates, or use s custom css plugin (for instance the custom css of the ‘jetpack’ plugin) for any formatting changes.
