Support » Themes and Templates » Twenty Ten Stylesheet not working after upgrade to wordpress 3.0.2

  • I just returned home to find that my web host had automatically upgraded my wordpress installation to 3.0.2. I’m using the Twenty Ten theme with an edited stylesheet. Since the upgrade my stylesheet isn’t working at all and so I’ve go a very ugly looking site.
Any clues as to how to fix?

  • Unfortunately I believe the upgrade over-wrote those modifications and now is defaulted to the TwentyTen theme with no modifications.

This actually happened to me to, and I learned my lesson – duplicate the theme and use your own custom styles there, so it won’t automatically upgrade…

That is one reason it is recommended that you create child theme so that any updates will not loose your changes.

Mostly you make changes to functions.php and style.css files and they need to be child theme make in those files.

When your wordpress was updated as it is security release all wordpress files and folders were over written.

I updated my website without any problems as I have not made changes in core files all on child theme.

Damn. Didn’t know that. There goes countless hours of work.

If you have backup then you can create child theme there are instructions here

Upload your back up style.css file in child theme and fuctions.php file if you made changes in functions and you will see another theme in your themes activate it.

Great. Thank you or your support

    You are welcome

I have updated my theme stylesheet. But my theme is working perfectly but all my images and icons are lost…

    Need Help..

They are still there in wp-contnet folder is just that your urls are not pointing to images.

Try resetting your permalinks to default and see if you get them working.
