twenty ten "posted in" -functions.php

hello wordpress community
I am using twenty ten theme.
I removed everything in posted in function so it reads:
function twentyten_posted_in() {
}
But the meta data for “posted in” on my posts is still showing?
I am not sure where I have gone wrong.
Help would be much appreciated
