Twenty Ten
[resolved] Twenty ten: making images inline with each other (5 posts)

[am using latest version of Twenty Ten with a Child Theme]

In a standard post, if you make the images small enough, they will run inline together. But if you add a caption, they refuse to run inline, no matter how small they're sized. Can someone tell me how to get around this? (PS: I'm a newbie, so be explicit with any advice!)

    Much appreciation as always!

Try using Firefox with the Firebug add-on for this kind of CSS troubleshooting. Or use whatever developer tool is available in your web browser.

Thanks — Using Firebug, it looks as though any image that gets a caption is treated as its own <div, whereas if it doesn't have a caption it just shows up in the code as a link to the image. Any way to get around this? Any good plugins I should use for including multiple images in posts? I'd like to be able to create a line of thumbnails with captions.

You should be able to use the built in gallery functionality to do that. Or use "float" in the CSS to put them side by side -

Finally figured it out -- had to do with how the captioned images were aligned. If you choose "None", they won't go inline together. Have to align left!
