    Hi fellow WordPressers,

    Thank you for your time. I was just wondering how I could get the Twenty Seventeen theme to show my site tagline, but not my site title on my homepage? Also, the theme seems to not be responsive when on my mobile? It scales the header image down for iPad, but on the phone the header image goes off the screen.

    Thanks,

    Tim

  • Hello timmcke,

    You can hide site title by css. Follow Below steps:

    1. Login as admin and go on theme customizer Dashboard >> Apperance >> Customize or Click on Custimze link on top bar from front-end.

    2. Then navigate Additional CSS and put below css into textarea then click on Save & Publish button.

    .home .site-title { display: none; }

    Hope this will helps you.

    Hi, thanks for the response. Unfortunately that doesn’t work, however once I played with the syntax I got it to work. Also, I mentioned that the theme doesn’t scaledown when on phone?

    This worked for me….
    In the Additional CSS or, if you have a Child Theme add to the style.css
    /* Display Site Tagline but hide the Site Title
    ————————————————*/

    .site-title, site-title a {
    display: none;
    }

    Thanks, @saurabhdhariwal!

    This is exactly what I was looking for. My logo is the same as the site title and it looked like I was repeating myself on the site, so I tried just deleting the site title, but that had other negative side effects. This was great. Thanks!
