  • Trying WordPress 4.7.1-RC1, I found these problems with Twenty Seventeen.

    1. On home page initial load view, main menu is at the bottom. The submenus drop down out of view instead of up so they can be read.
    2. Click and hold on parent menu item then abort by moving off of the menu and then release. Submenu stays showing instead of hiding.
    3. Show latest posts on front page. All show entire post content except for gallery, video, and audio format. This is deceptively hiding some content.
    4. There’s no meta data shown for custom post types. Posts show date and edit link at top, and on search results Pages at least have edit link. Custom Post types show neither.
    5. Box shadow on linked images overlaps adjacent text. The selector is “.entry-content a img, .widget a img”
    6. Bullets and numbers for lists are too far left, outside the rest of the content text.
    7. Video with odd format(I used .wmv) shows as black box with white “Download File” text. When hovered, that text is black, disappearing on the black box.

The developers and users of this theme would be the best people to ask. You can reach them here:

    Ask?
I’m reporting defects I found that could be fixed for the 4.7.1 release.

I have been told that there will be lots of updates for 4.7.1, so you’re right to post here. Sorry! I’ll bring this to the attention of the theme devs.

    I got this response:

4.7.1 is frozen barring major bugs and those are all issues that existed previously in the initial release. Some of them are definitely worth considering but probably for the next major release since some would be enhancements.

That doesn’t mean we can’t suggest changes for Twenty Seventeen, however, which updates outside the WP core release cycle… The issues are with a theme that has been released.

I’m moving this to the theme section.

    Two more things:
    * the menu should have a fallback instead showing nothing
    * the comments should be shown on static home Page

Does anyone look at these? Or should this be on Trac?
