OK, so with WordPress 5.0 arriving tomorrow … we’re turning our attention to the new default theme Twenty Nineteen.

Does anyone use this theme yet? Does anyone have a request for a similar plugin?

Let us know and we’ll get developing 🙂

    Hi Oliver,

not yet using Twenty Nineteen on my principal and most active website and no plans to change whatever for the moment, seen that I managed to fully customize Twenty Seventeen thanks to your great plugin and excellent support!

I’ll perhaps give WP5 and Twenty Nineteen a try on another website, thus we’ll stay in contact 😉

Good plan! Let me know if you notice anything that needs an option 😊

OK, for those who are interested … we’ve published a new plugin for Twenty Nineteen …

    Options for Twenty Nineteen

    Hi Oliver,

I’d love to see the following as a start (some of these I have managed to work out by editing the CSS, but a simple way would be welcomed):

    1. Ability to turn off featured image on main blog page but have it show on archive pages
    2. Ability to remove the – (long dashes) that are everywhere in this theme
    3. Ability to adjust font sizes (and change fonts, if possible)
    4. More color options (if possible)
    5. Ability to have archive pages not display the excerpt when displaying featured image
    6. Archives pages display meta description at the top under the heading
    7. Option to hide author bio on posts
    8. Ability to make single posts and pages wider

    Hi,

Great! We’ll start work on these and let you know when we have something for you to try 🙂

    Oliver

Awesome Oliver! Thanks 🙂 Happy to support the plugin too should you make a pro version!

One other thing I discovered this morning… the theme’s default behaviour is to show pagination links. If infinite scroll is turned on in Jetpack it shows a ‘load more’ button at the bottom of each page. If there was a way to override that and have it truly infinitely scroll, that would be very appreciated.

OK, no problem, I’ll take a look at this as well.

Going to move this over to the support forum for Options for Twenty Nineteen and I’ll tag you in a post when I have an update for you …

    Hi Josh,

Just an update to say that I’ve just pushed a new version of Options for Twenty Nineteen that deals with your two requests to hide the dashes and show archive descriptions.

    Oliver

    Hi Oliver,

I’m not using Twenty Nineteen now as it didn’t have ‘the look’ I was after as it was. I may revisit it in the future, but right now it’s not suitable.

    Cheers

    Josh.

To update this thread, we have just pushed an update for the plugin Options for Twenty Nineteen to include an option to turn on infinite scroll in Jetpack.

As an explanation as to why it is disabled by default, because the theme has footer widgets, they would be inaccessible. So make sure you don’t use any footer widgets when using this option.

    Hello,

Looks like your site requires a plugin to generate the content for “stm_spacer”, “stm_separator” and “stm_infobox”.

This isn’t something connected with Twenty Nineteen Theme, sorry.

    Hi Oliver,

Thanks for the update it just made me confused because when I go to “Appearance > Themes” it says Twenty Nineteen so I thought it was. My old theme was gone for some reason. I will go ahead and contact my initial theme support. Thanks anyway. 🙂

Twenty nineteen is cropping the top and bottom from the featured image on the front page. I have tried different additional css codes and resizing the image and haven’t found any solution. The site is columbiagorgepowersledders.com. this picture has a snowmobile and rider in the lower right foreground. I’m new to wordpress.org but I have had good luck making other changes on the site.
    Thanks
    Dave
