Support » Theme: Twenty Fourteen » Twenty Fourteen if full width how can i use up space where sidebars were

  • Hi – I am using the Twenty Fourteen theme, and when I choose FULL WIDTH instead of TEMPLATE for the page and post layout, the sidebars are not there (good) however the main content doesn’t stretch out to fill up the space? It just stays as if the sidebars are still there? How do I get it to fill the space for Full Width, but also still work for the Template (including the sidebars)?
    Cheers

  • Hi

    Simple !!

    Go to /wp-content/themes/twentyfourteen/page-templates/full-width.php

    Open the file and below css code on line no 11

    <style>
    .site-content .entry-header {
        max-width: unset !important;
    }
    .site-content {
        margin-left: 0 !important;
    }

    .entry-content {
        float: left;
    }

    .site::before{
    background: none;
    }
    </style>

    Find below line on line no 41
    get_sidebar();

    Change this to
    //get_sidebar();

    Save.

    Thankyou SO much. Also, in mobile view, there’s a white gap under the header. I have clicked that ‘remove white space’ but it doesn’t help on the mobile view at all?
