to use the link suggested, i.e http://www.technosource.net/3Dprinting/wp-content/themes
My question is: where I find the directory and where I create the child theme?
Thanks a lot Andrew

You need to be using some sort of File Transfer tool for this. Your hosting providers should have a tool you can use. Can you contact them about this?

No, it’s not code. It’s software that’s provided and authenticated by your hosting providers. You can use your own software but if you cannot contact them for your FTP credentials you cannot create a Child Theme the way Codex suggests.
You could instead try a Child Theme plugin: http://wordpress.org/plugins/orbisius-child-theme-creator/
I will try to get the FTP credentials
Thanks Andrew for mentioning my Child Theme Creator plugin.
Hello Andrew and sorry to bother again.
I created in FTP the child page.
Now I have this situation
http://www.technosource.net/3Dprinting is still using the twentyfourteen theme which I modified and looks generally how I like it.
Then I have a child page which – if I activate it – shows a design which is not what I like.
My questions are:
1)how I can move the settings I want (and who are probably here http://technosource.net/3Dprinting/wp-content/themes/twentyfourteen/style.css) to Technosource.net/3Dprinting/wp-content/themes/twentyfourteen-child/style.css ?
2) How can then intervene in solving the issue of not having the subpages hidden in the column to the left of the blog?
Thanks a million

1) In your Child Theme style.css file try replacing this:
@import url("/3Dprinting/wp-content/themes/twentyfourteen");
With this:
@import url("../twentyfourteen/style.css");
Thanks Andrew, but It does not work.
I edited the import url in the FTP, then activated the child theme but it deletes the amendments I did to the original theme
I attach hereby the Theme Twenty Fourteen Stylesheet.css with my modifications.
What I also tried is to activate the child theme, then going on “Theme Editor” and substituting the text with the stylesheet herebelow but is says “This theme is broken. Template is missing.”
So at the moment I went back to square one and reactivated the parent twentyfourteen theme
Thanks a lot oif you could help and sorry to bother

yes I brought it back to the original after I saw it did not work. Now I amended it again and it is @import url(“/3Dprinting/wp-content/themes/twentyfourteen/style.css”)
Thanks !

I don’t think your changes are being pulled through
