@ipstenu I saw your comment that the Alpha/Beta Forum to quite. Anyway, I thought I would pipe-in:)

I thought I would try testing the new beta version and 2015 theme. I never used post formats so Im learning I how to use them. It seems the new default theme for post formats really just added theme support for all formats but doesn’t really style them with the exception of smaller font for post title, indicate post format tag and Status Format only one that No Title.

i.e Quote Format: I would expect to insert text without having to use block quotes in order to demonstrate that post format.

I just thought i would provide that feedback because it confusing for the end user on how they are used in this theme. They are not something I would use but thought I would contribute with a chime in.

    Have a great weekend.

  • @julianprice, You’re right. Twenty Fifteen doesn’t emphasise post formats as much as the past default themes did. Style differences are minimal – just de-emphasising post title to emphasise content itself. Traditionally, themes hide post title from some post formats including Aside, Quote formats etc. but Twenty Fifteen only hides it in Status format where I think is definitely not necessary.

I don’t think that’s a right thing to do. You should explicitly specify what a quote is even in a Quote format. There are many cases you want to add something other than a quote. Also if you switch to a theme that doesn’t support Quote format, how the theme would know what a quote is to style differently from other? You don’t expect whatever you add in Image format magically turns into image, do you. It’s the same thing.

Thanks @iamtakashi, I’m going to mark this as resolved as it is not a bug 🙂
