    Hi guys,

I have a twenty eleven theme blog in wordpress.com with the following available widgets: About.me Widget / Akismed Widget / Archives / Author Grid / Authors / Blogs I Follow / Blog Stats / Box.net file sharing / Calendar / Categories / Category Cloud / Custom Menu / del.icio.us / Facebook Like Box / Flickr / Follow Blog / Goodreads / Gravatar / Gravatar Profile / Image / Links / Meta / Milestone / My Community / Pages / Posts I Like / Recent Comments / Recent Posts / RSS / RSS Links / Search / Tag Cloud / Text / Top Clicks / Top Post & Pages / Top Rated / Twenty Eleven Ephemera / Twitter

By other hand I have just installed wordpress.org 3.4.2 in a hosting and I’m trying to use the Twenty Eleven theme that comes predetermined with the installation. But if I go to the Widgets section I only can see:
Archives / Calendar / Categories / Custom Menu / Links / Meta / PAges / Recent Comments / Recent Posts / RSS / Search / Tag Cloud / Text / Twenty Eleven Ephemera

Does anybody know how can I recover all the rest of widgets? Why there aren’t the same widgets in both wordpress.org and wordpress.com template?

Thank you very much in advance.

    Alberto.

  • WordPress.com has some widgets installed that are either part of their service or available for you to install as plugins. If there are particular widgets that you want to use, it might be easier to ask about those, and someone may be able to suggest which plugins you can install.

Thank you for your response Amy,

Then the Twenty Eleven Theme characteristics are not the same in both platforms (wordpress.org and wordpress.com)?

The widgets I would like to install in wordpress.org are: Blogs I Follow / Category Cloud / Facebook Like Box / Flickr / Follow Blog / Twitter.

    Thanks

It’s a little more complicated than that — there’s a set of default widgets that are built in to the WordPress software. And there are sometimes others that are specific to a particular theme, if that theme’s author chose to add some. Twenty Eleven has only one of those: the ephemera widget. And beyond that there are others that you can add on yourself: WordPress.com has already added a bunch of those to their service, but they’re not part of the core software.

As for your particular wishlist, you can start with the Jetpack plugin, which includes several widgets from wp.com, but I’ll leave the rest for others to answer, since I haven’t used most of them myself.

Thank you very much for such detailed explanation.

Related to Jetplack plugin I have just installed it and it have some of widgets.

I will serach for other plugins for the other widgets.

    Thank you again.

…and can I follow up asking about the My Community widget that is not in the current version of Mixfolio. Do you know how I can find it, or upload it?
    Many thanks
