• An odd and annoying thing here, but may be normal.

When I view the TwentyEleven theme on WordPress.com on an iPhone with the “See it in Action” button. the content fills the screen. Looks reasonably nice, the text is readable, etc.

However, when I view my site using the same template, the pages are greatly reduced in size. Instead of filling the screen with the content alone, the content is shifted to the left half of the screen and the right hand side of the page/browser background fills the right. You have to pinch zoom to read the text.

Is this normal? Have I mucked up my theme templates? (Don’t think so, as it does the same thing when I activate the original theme.) Or is there some magic going on at WordPress.com to display these template samples differently when viewed on iOS? (my sight is self hosted).

    Thanks,
    Barry

  • Barry, did you ever find a solution to this problem?

I’ve got the same issue. My site looks fine on laptops/ desktops, not so good on the iPad and even worse on the iPhone.

On the iPhone the content is condensed into the left hand half of the screen leaving the right hand side with nothing but the background image.

I’m using a child theme of Twenty Eleven & the site is http://www.roymcg.com – Here is a what i looks like on the phone – image

How can I get it to look good on the iPhone?!!!

    Did someone find a solution?

Please, whether is negative or affirmative response I’d like to listen you.

Or did you decide to move to Twenty Ten theme? I’m thinking to do so.

    Thanks a lot!

No luck so far unfortunately… I’ve tried using a completely untouched Twenty Eleven theme and still have the same problem. You’re right though, twenty ten looks fine on iOS, Twenty Eleven is not so good.

Can us how to sort this problem out?
