Support » Themes and Templates » [Twenty Eleven] upgrading wordpress with a child theme

  • Hi there

I am planning to upgrade to 3.5.2 and have backed everything up. I have a customised version of twenty eleven using a child theme. (see http://www.nadaav.com/n).

I see here that a customised version of the theme will be overwritten on upgrade: http://codex.wordpress.org/Updating_WordPress

Does this include child themes? What’s the best way to upgrade to maintain my child theme changes and also general theme options?

    Thanks kindly

If you used the child theme to make changes (i.e. did not modify any parent theme files), you should be fine – that’s the purpose of a child theme.

Thanks loads. Yes customisation all done via child theme.

Will I be able to do automatic updating?

And will the child theme need to re uploaded or will it remain in place?

    Thanks kindly
