• Ok, so I have been tasked with customizing our blog for our ministry at adventurescalling.wordpress.com but we have run into some issues. I had everything exactly how we wanted it last week and all of a sudden our main sidebar content, which includes a brief textbox and our recent posts, was pushed to the bottom of the page. I went into the custom editor and removed all of the CSS I had added to create changes. This still did not result in moving the sidebar back to the top, even though now it is using the Twenty Eleven theme with no alterations… WTF? Can anyone help me?

I have scoured the forum and everything I find is for people who have created their own theme or child theme and have access to page.php their .style etc. Which you do not have when it is a standard wordpress blog with the custom editor upgrade. From what I can tell there is no way to ftp access a wordpress blog. We have a different site, where we bought a domain and made it a .org and just use wordpress to run it, I can access ftp and all the .phps there, but on this one all I have is custom editor. What the heck?

The website is adventurescalling.wordpress.com. Thanks for your time!

It looks just like bad HTML in the post!
You have stray end tags likley an extra </span> or </div>

    Check it out here:

Hmmmmm, this is really weird, because these posts were like this last week when it was displaying correctly, I wonder why all of a sudden it pushed it down. I’m not the person that has been creating the posts, my job was just to change the background color, images, etc, styling things.

I’m pretty my coworked who has been writing the posts doesn’t do it in HTML as she doesn’t understand it, she just uses the visual editor as far as I know. I’d like to think the visual editor wouldn’t create bad HTML.

I’ll go try to clean up the html and those end tags and see what it does. Any other ideas?

Also, some of the posts display correctly with a thinner column that leaves room for a sidebar and other posts towards the bottom just span the entire page from left to right. Any way that might be whats pushing the sidebar? I’ve opened up the edit post page for the wide ones and normal ones and everything appears to be the exact same, I’m at a loss as to why one post would be wide and another would be thin.

    Thanks again.

generally, for any blog with WordPress.com, please ask at the dedicated forum http://en.forums.wordpress.com/

this forum here is for WordPress.org – difference http://en.support.wordpress.com/com-vs-org/

Wow, I had no clue there were two seperate forums. I think you just solved so many of my issues around this website. I kept coming here because while working on our .org site this is where it directed me, I thought this was the only support forum wordpress had. Thank you so much.
