Twenty Eleven Theme – Header Navigation

Need a simple solution to resolve the above problem.

I have tried everything to resolve a duplicate Heading that is showing up in the Header Navigation Bar. i.e. two headings showing as “Home”.

Not sure what is causing the problem, have tried looking at all the pages and there is nothing there, also the posts and finally within settings so not sure where it is picking this heading up from.

I’m very new to web and css so need a simple solution. Hope someone can help.

Do not edit the Twenty Eleven theme. It is the default WordPress 3.2 theme and having access to an unedited version of the theme is vital when dealing with a range of site issues.

Create a child theme for your customisations. Once your child theme is active, we should be able to help with the customisation.

sorry, not sure if I’m being ignorant here…. I haven’t edited the theme only the options that were provided on the site…. not any of the css files etc.

I have very little knowledge about this and the process of creating a child theme doesn’t seem that simple with my inexperienced skills.

This is my 4th attempt to get the site up as previous themes and original wp installations seemed to keep getting corrupted. Hence am concerned about creating something new which will take me back to the same situation.

Have you tried deactivating all plugins?
