• Hello Forum.

Im trying to do a parent child relationship on a page. Im using a Twenty Eleven theme, but there is no dropdown option for this function like the instructor is indicating in his tutorial. because Im new to wordpress, does this theme support this function?

  • Yes, you can certainly use child pages with twentyelven. The most likely reason you are not seeing the page attributes ‘box’ in the page editor is that you need to enable it from Screen Options (upper right when in the Page Editor) and check ‘Page Attributes’.

Let us know if this helps.

    Hello thank you for replying.

I do have the “Page attributes” from the Screen options. I have also deactivated all the plugins just in case. The only do parent child relationship feature at the post section but not pages. Also Ive noticed the twenty eleven Im using does not support featured image either.

like the instructor is indicating in his tutorial</blockquotewhat instructor?
can you post a link to the tutorial?

how many pages do you have published in your site?

I have uploaded a screen shot here, as you may see the page attribute is there, but with no drop down option. I have made 3 pages.

The instructor is from lynda tutorials.

One thing id like to add is when I view my site, I can only see on the menu: HOME. The other pages are not there on my menu. Although if I go in dashboard of each page individually and click preview they appear.

    I found the tutorial:

Also Very import I must add, foolish of me I didnt specify earlier is, I logged into my wordpress site, which I did not design myself. So since I wanted to learn how to use wordpress fro scratch I deleted the previews theme which the designer used. Now That Im experimenting with wordpress clicking on all the menus it has I have discovered in the widget section some inactive widgets containing information that was stored on my site, and also in the appearance> menu. I see my previous navigation bar: Home, About, portfolio, contatc.

I thought by deleting the theme the previous designer had used it would delete everything he had stored on my wordpress site.
