  • Hi Fetz,

    I had a look with FF and Chrome, and both pages “Home” and “Vita”, alongside the others, appear to have the same width for me: 900px.
    This width is defined by your style sheet (line 194)

    .one-column #page {
        max-width: 900px;

    Thank you very much.
    It seems this is ( as always) an issue with opera, which i was using earlier.

    Sorry, i checked the page again on my home pc and found out that this problem still exists with Firefox also.

    I checked the editor and it is exactly like you said,

    .one-column #page {
    max-width: 900px;

    On my monitor the biggest difference is “Home” vs. “Media”.
    I got a 24″ screen and the difference is really obvious.

    Did you also try clicking on “media” ?

    Hi Fetz, I have no answers, I’m sorry.

    I’ve downloaded Opera on this occasion, and flickered once again with these 3 browers (FF, Opera, Chrome, for Windows 7, screen: 1280 x 800), through all pages and posts, without noticing any difference. (I’ve discovered a great musician, congrats!)

    By the way, I suggest you delete the little “f” playing hide-and-seek from the very begining of your main stylesheet. It doesn’t prevent the browers from interpreting correctly the stylesheet anyway, but well, that’s probably better.

    Did you customize the css?

    Hi Aria,
    thanks for all your effort.
    It seems this problem only appears in 1920×1020.
    I will try to investigate further and post a solution here if i find any.

    I changed some things in the style.css when trying make the site wider. Probably i screwed up something then.

    Another advice: I also suggest not to tweak directly the theme (php or CSS), but to use what the WP community (and moderators) calls a Child Theme. The reason is if you do upgrade your theme, all your modifications will be lost.
    Creating a Child Theme is really easy to do, and is worth the effort so as to maintain your site in the long-run.

    are you sure it is the width that is changing, and not a vertical scroll bar appearing on the longer page?

    can you try to capture the problem with a screenshot?

    Hey alchymyth,
    i think you are right.
    Wow, i cant believe i was stupid enough not to realize this !
    It was really driving me nuts.
    On “Media” there is no scrollbar, thats why it appears the whole page “moves”.

    So probably its not possible to change this but to make every page long enough so it has a scrollbar ?

    there are simple css solutions;

    web search ‘force vertical scrollbar’ or similar

    for example, try to add this to style.css of your theme:

    html {
           overflow-y: scroll;

    thanks for your tip.
    I tried to add it, but it didnt make a difference.
    Do i have to put it specific place ?
    Now i put it right below “structure” pretty much on top of the css file.
    Gr Felix

    is working in my Firefox browser – i.e. even the short ‘contact’ page has a fixed scrollbar.

    try to clear the browser cache by reloading the web page a few times, or by clearing the browser history, or with pressing ‘CTRL F5’, or whatever your broser demands…

    This did the trick. Thanks to everybody !!
