for some reason – possible a wrong edit of header.php – the div #branding is not closed, so that the style for #branding img
with width: 100%;
influences the images in your content.
possibly also reflected in the validation errors:

more important:
don’t edit twenty eleven directly, but create a child theme http://codex.wordpress.org/Child_Themes and make the edits there.
it is important to have an unedited default theme. also, any customisations will be overwritten with the next upgrade of your wordpress version.
once you have your child theme in place, we should be able to help you with any details of your problem.
I’m having the same problem with my brand new wordpress website using current Twenty Eleven 1.2 theme in 3.3.1 WordPress. The images are going full width of all posts! I choose full size of image using image browser.
The images all over my website are scaling and distorting to full width of post area. I have created a child theme so nothing gets over written, yet nothing is working. Is this a wordpress flaw with this template?
Here is an example. The first images should be only 10% of what it is currently 🙁

What do I have to do to fix this issue? Any suggestions are greatly appreciated.
