hey all… I’m a newb at WP, so bare with me. I’m using the twenty eleven theme, and I’ve created a custom menu that has categories as the main subsections, and the homepage is a catch-all for all of the categories. I have a special header image that I’d like to use per each category, but I can’t figure out a way to do so. Any suggestions?

    please check it out: http://www.bizybii.com

    Thanks in advance!

  • Hello!

Short answer: it is possible but not easy without the knowledge of php just with the Twenty Eleven theme.

    Possible Solution:
You can use a combination of 2 plugins:
    http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/taxonomy-metadata/
    AND
    http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/unique-headers/

(NOTE: you need both for category header image support)

I know php, I just don’t know my way around WP yet. It’s been awhile since I’ve been able to spend time on that site (June I think?), but I was trying to code the header image in to each unique page instead of using categories. The header image worked, but getting the posts right did not work. So I’m trying to go back to using categories because functionally they work better, and I figured getting the image to sync with each category should not be that difficult.

    That did it. THANK YOU!
