Twenty Eleven has gray borders in mobile view

  • The default responsive styles for Twenty Eleven have ugly gray borders at left and right which account for substantial amount of screen real estate on mobiles.

    Screenshot of problem, taken from Twenty Eleven demo site:

    Here is a quick workaround that you can put into your child theme (don’t hack the default style.css):

    @media (max-width: 550px)
    {
        body
        {
            padding: 0px;
        }

        #page
        {
            margin-top: 0px;
        }
    }

    Any suggestions for improving this snippet? Thanks beforehand.
