• Help! I tried to remove “posted on” code from functions.php so it won’t appear on my web site front page. But functions.php now messed up. Get this warning:

Parse error: syntax error, unexpected $end in /hermes/bosweb/web283/b2836/ipg.diabeticslifelinecom/options4wellness/wp-content/themes/twentyeleven/functions.php on line 600

Have tried reloading the code I removed, but warning keeps coming. Tried finding functions.php code for WP twenty eleven, but cant find a site giving me the functions.php code so I can accurately cut and paste.

Should I start over on this site by stripping all WP code from file manager?

  • why dont you download a fresh wordpress version and just replace the files ?

I think you can remove the “posted on” – thingie in css.

Just analyze it with firebug and set it to “display:none”.

    I mean the “functions.php”

As you’ve found out, it’s never a good idea to edit theme files. That said, download a new copy of the theme to your desktop and using FTP replace the bad functions file in your site with a new, clean, original copy.
