  • Hi,

    I’ve been trying to make the white page background on the TwentyTen theme slightly opaque so that the custom background I’ve added can be seen through it (looking at 75% opacity or thereabouts).

    Using this code added to the CSS template I’ve got it to work on Firefox, but when the page is viewed through Internet Explorer the “page” background is completely opaque so the text is on the background image and unreadable!

    div {
       background: rgba(200, 255, 255, 0.7);

    Any help is greatly appreciated

  • Transparency with IE is sometime tricky, and to have it displayed correctly on all versions requires some “hacks”.

    Probably one of the easiest ways to do it is to create a png image, with the transparency that you want, rather than using css to do it.
