# Tutorials for Editing formatting posts?

 * Does anyone know of any detailed tutorials about how to make posts to a WP blog?
   Most everything I see here is about overall site design. I’m very frustrated 
   just trying to make a post that isn’t one big mess of texts. I can’t even put
   in line breaks. Or separate out paragraphs.
 * I’m not sure why blogs are supposed to be advantageous over simply creating code
   for static web pages the old fashioned way. It seems I could have written ten
   articles in the time I’ve spent trying to make a single post not look a mess.
   So obviously I’m missing some major points. I’m probably overcomplicating the
   simple. But I can’t find the solutions in my searches in the forums or online
   documentation. Though it does seem others have this problem with post formatting
   dissapearing or not behaving. So maybe there is something somewhere else. So 
   far all I can find is that the visual editor lets you bold and underline and 
   italicize. And the code editor eliminates everything else?

 * To generate a paragraph.
    `<p>text</p>` To generate bold text. `<b>text</b>` 
   To generate italic text. `<i>text</i>` To generate a linebreak. `<br />`
 * That’s the basic ones. You can read a lot on W3schools.com, and [here](http://www.w3schools.com/html/html_primary.asp)
   is a link to the basic tags.

 * Now if only that worked, and wordpress didn’t erase those tags I’ve been using
   for years in regular html pages.
