    Hello @tarekelnemrawy,

That’s because you installed WordPress in a sub-directory and not in the root directory. Installing WP in the root directory will resolve the issue.

    Hi @munayam
    Thank you for fast response

I am setting wordpress “locally” using Local by flywheel
so it’s a root directory installation by default

    do you have any recommendations?`

    Hello @tarekelnemrawy,

You can edit file path under preferences > “new site defaults”- this shall resolve the url issue.

You can also try xampp, mamp, wamp or laragon.

    Hi @munayam

I changed file path under preferences to the root directory which is D:\ in my case, but the issue is still there

So, I tested it on live hosting server and the issue is not there, the redirection after login/logout takes me to Dashboard normally

Then it’s seems to be a localhost issue.

    Thanks for your support
    Best Regards

    Hi @munayam

    Update
I fixed the issue on my Local by changing permalinks to custom structure.
    I set custom structure to : /%category%/%postname%/
then I can login/logout on Dashboard normally

do you have any comment on using Custom Structure : /%category%/%postname%/ instead of Post name?

    Thank you in advance

    Hello @tarekelnemrawy,

On production site please use post name for permalinks or else you will encounter 404 errors. I’m using post name on local as well without any issue. The dashboard should be accessed from https yoursite dot com/dashboard (ignore my spacing in between)
