Hi John, There’s a few options out there:
1. youtube has at least a dozen competent video tutors; you can even search on YT specifically for twentyeleven theme tutorials
2. There’s the forums here if you have specific questions and find them in the appropriate forum, and don’t forget the codex
3. there are offsite training courses at places like Lynda.com
4. if you need someone in person, you could also check out craigslist toronto to make a post looking for a tutor in your area.
I’ve found all 4 to be very helpful (newbie myself). Hope that helps!

Lynda.com is great for everything else except WordPress and Web Marketing. I’ve viewed the WP courses their and they are woefully inadequate, even for a newbie.
