• I’ve looked at every article on turning off comments, and yet every day I get yet another SPAM comment from some dude offering to increase my search engine presence. My site is “elfintechnologies.com”, and all i have is a single test page, permanently set as the lone static page for the site. No matter what i do, there’s still a space for comments at the bottom. I’ve turned off comments for future posts, and gone in to the individual post (Welcome to Elfin Technologies), set it for NO comments, did an “update”, and properly exited the admin page. Nothing changes!

  • Since you’re using a static page as your front page, you need to turn off comments on that particular page. It’s Page ID 7.

OK… thanks! I see my problem. I guess before I understood the difference between posts and pages, I had created a “post” with the same title. So I kept going round and round editing the POST, not realizing I wasn’t affecting the page at all! Now I’ve deleted the empty post with the same title, and edited the PAGE to turn off comments. DUHHH!!!

Hey I have a question! Now that I already have this sample page in place, can I experiment with different themes without destroying or removing the page?
