Support » Plugin: Redirection » Turn off plugin without dashboard access

  • I managed to kill my site a little by deleting the /wordpress part of the address in settings.

I found out how to put that back but now every time I try to get to the site it tries to redirect me and I can’t see anything other than an unformatted page.

Is there a way to disable the plugin from the server by editing a php file so that I can get the site back to normal and then reinstall it afterwards?

  • Use your ftp client or the file manager in your hosts control panel to rename or remove the redirection plugin directory. That should disable the plugin (assuming it doesn’t write anything to the .htaccess file).

What if said “redirection” plugin folder is no longer there?

I removed the plugin via the plugins menu (i.e. deactivate/delete/yes delete all files) but it is STILL redirecting my entire site back to my homepage!

How can I remedy this? I need to work on this site!

I cleared my browser cache and cookies and the site is behaving normally again.

    Thanks!
