  • There are a lot of comment spam automated softwares, like XRumer and Scrapebox. They can create thousands of blog comments on WordPress blogs per minute.

    Since the comment form is below the pages and posts by default, what happens is that a WordPress site will get a lot of spam comments by default. If the webmaster doesn’t delete these comments, the database will be so huge that at some point the shared hosting provider (most people use shared hosting) will shut down the account.
