Turn Dreamweaver Template into WordPress Site??

  • Hey guys,

I’ve been doing some basic web design by creating a Photoshop layout and turning that into a Dreamweaver template, and then building the site from there.

I would LOVE to learn how to use Word Press but feel a bit overwhelmed when looking at all the information here…

If anyone has a link or could explain how I could take one of my Dreamweaver templates and turn that into a WordPress site/template, I would greatly appreciate it.

I have WP 2.7 installed already, so I’m going to start tinkering around now.

    Thanks in advance.

Dreamweaver is great for site management and for html where you need to add to WordPress Pages or html to header or footer.php or text widget.

As one that has used DW extensively, you can have an html site or a php site. The look of a PHP site is basically controlled by css not html. You can find a theme (or develop your own) that is close to your DW template and then use css to change it.

I did it both ways. I tried to incorporate WP into a DW site but finally I gave up, redesigned and just use WP. I am a bit lazy so my WP sites use more html than I need if I would use css more effectively.
