Support » Fixing WordPress » Trying to retain 'read more' link in query on post page

  • Resolved phendyr

Right now I’m calling two queries on my main wordpress-based homepage – both to display the most recent posts to two categories. The first one I have displaying as an ‘alert’ showing the title and a couple sentences with the read more link.

If I click on a post below, and go to the page for that post, the ‘alert’ post changes from showing the ‘read more’ link, to showing the whole entry, and the text bleeds off the div tag area.

How can I force it to retain the ‘read more’ link on the alert query that will always be at the top of the page? regardless of if I’m on the homepage (using _content & the read more links), or if I’m on a single entry page, where it’s showing the full content of one entry, but I just want the other post to be truncated by the read more link?
