Hello everyone, I’ve been trying to make a custom back ground for might site that fits perfect and i dont have to “repeat” (horizontally or vertically). I also dont want the the page to have to scroll across. can someone help me with this by letting me know the correct px to use (width and height) 1349 seems to work for with sometimes but the height i can never match up.

    thank you in advance

I’m sorry EKC but there is no right answer to your question. There are all sorts of monitor sizes out there and resolution. I doubt that an image 1349px wide will fit perfectly on an iPhone, iPad or 26 inch iMac… And then what about content height? Are you going to restrict the amount so that the page always has the same height….

There are ways to use one image, make it fit the whole screen and give it an absolute position, but this requires the need to use jQuery.

Here’s a tutorial by Chris Coyier

I think that this might be the best solution for that if you can use this technique, otherwise, I would simply go with a repeating background.

I really appreciate your help. I am going to take a look @ the tutorial now. Thank you forelabrating on the different sizes for different screens and resolution….lol,i really hadn’t considered that.
