    define(‘DB_USER’, ‘DividedPlaces’); // Your MySQL username
    define(‘DB_PASSWORD’, ‘passwordhere’); // …and password

    // chosen language must be installed to wp-content/languages.

    have you got a quote mark in your password?

    I really can’t see where the error is, unless it’s that. The error suggests that you’re missing a ‘ mark somewhere, but I can’t see any missing.

    if you REALLY dont need a password, you might TRY this ..

    1. remove this line completely from wp-config.php:

    define('DB_PASSWORD', 'passwordhere'); // ...and password

    then, open up wp-includes/wp-db.php and locate THIS line:

    $wpdb = new wpdb(DB_USER, DB_PASSWORD, DB_NAME, DB_HOST);

    and change that line to read:

    $wpdb = new wpdb(DB_USER, DB_NAME, DB_HOST);

    you should know though, that I have NOT tested that, it might work, might not, AND that it is VERY insecure (if it works at all).
