maybe i have misunderstood this plugin, but I cant seem to get a simple slideshow to display in the sidebar.
It displayed thumbnails, which upon clicking displayed larger images, but i just want a slide show to cycle through images in my sidebar. No thumbnails or anything else for that matter.

    is this possible?

Sounds like you might have selected the wrong widget for this — did you choose the widget titled “NextGEN Slideshow”? That’s the one you need (not the one titled “NextGEN Widget”).

(You can also use a Text widget and use NextGEN shortcodes.)

ahh yes, the slide show is now there, thanks.

The other issue im having is that its not showing up in what i thought would be the “right sidebar”(probably because im new to WP). It shows up under the text of the main content.
So I am trying to have the left 2/3 of the page be the main content and the right 1/3 be the sidebar where the slide show and other things go.

    Thanks again for all help!

    You’re welcome.

(Location will depend on how the widget areas/sidebars are defined for your particular theme.)
