Ok, I will keep this as brief as possible.
I have Apache installed on my Windows XP machine.
I have PHP Version 5.0.4
phpinfo() tells me:
Configuration File (php.ini) Path C:\WINDOWS
That’s fine… I have therefore enabled the php_mysql.dll and php_mysqli.dll (just in case?!) extension lines. For some reason though, and I do not know WHY, phpinfo() is also telling me:
I have looked EVERYWHERE for the declaration that sets the extension_dir as C:\php5 but could not find it. In the end, I just created the bl**dy directory on my system and copied the mysql.dll file (and mysqli.dll just in case!) to it. Grr!
Still, PHP does not seem to be loading the MySQL extension.
I have also copied the libmysql.dll to my system32 folder as I saw this mentioned elsewhere. Fine…
I have rebooted, started/stopped/started Apache. Gone back to phpinfo() but still there’s no mention of mysql loading, and WP still gives me the dreaded error “Your PHP installation appears to be missing the MySQL extension which is required by WordPress.”
I really could do with some tips folks. Thanks in advance!
