Support » Plugins » Hacks » Trying to customize the look of a subscription widget

  • Hello. I am using the wordpress theme twenty eleven, with a child theme, and I am working with the Subscribe2 plugin and widget. My problem is that I don’t much care for the look of the subscription widget on the right sidebar seen here

    1st I want to change the font size, font color, and background color of the “Subscribe” and “Unsubscribe” buttons.

    Also I’d like to position “Unsubscribe” to the right of “Subscribe” instead of having “Unsubscribe” below “Subscribe.”

    If anyone can please suggest a custom code to plug into my child theme that would tweak the customization of this feature I’d greatly appreciate it.

    There is not enough room for both buttons in the sidebar width at the current font size. With a smaller size, the buttons will align in a row automatically.

    For the rest, put this in your child theme style.css page:

    .widget.s2_form_widget input[type="submit"] {
      background-color: #222;
      color: #8F0C12;
      font-size: 1em;
      font-weight: bold;
      border:2px solid #8F0C12;

    Adjust the values as you see fit.

    That should override the default widget values. If not, try the !important modifier after any values that are not “taking”.

    OT: I like your header image! It’s… um… “intriguing” 🙂

    YAY that worked great. Thank you so much.

    lol and thanks about the header image
