  • I just need somebody to explain something to me that I feel is probably very simple but I am just not understanding yet. Basically, if you want to have a WP blog as a page in your website do you have to build the whole site with or in wordpress. What determines if someone would want to use wordpress to Content Manage their site? Is it if you want certain features like a blog .. or other plugins. Basically I need to build a portfolio site for myself. I want to have a blog. It will be a fairly small site, with some content that will change, like my portfolio work. I want a blog and then on the home page, a smaller area with maybe the most recent post of my blog. I dunno, any tips on how this works and why people use it would be appreciated.

  • Looks like you’re going with the self-installed WordPress.

On another vein, have you checked out WordPress.com? Free hosting and technology. Then when you’re ready, you can buy a domain name and pay WordPress.com minimal account so that you can point that domain name on your site with no one else the wiser that it’s not self-installed. Just a thought 🙂
