 * Well, I just finished my site and made it live. Shortly after I started looking
   into some files to notice they are full with spam! Being new to WordPress, how
   can I tell if a plugin is trusted?

 * Only download plugins and themes from a reputable source – such as wordpress.
   org.

 * That is the only place I downloaded anything and I had spam via RSS feeds like
   crazy!

 * Are you sure that your site hasn’t been hacked? What’s its url? I can scan for
   spam/malware.
