Truly Free Theme – NO LITE-PRO combo.

    Where should I look for a truly free theme that doesn’t have a “pro” version.

    Whoever builds a lite-pro combo keeps some good essential stuff out of the demo version. There are always some strings attached to the lite version.

    I don’t really need that much, no shopping cart, no super deep features, just run of the mill widgets, 2 columns, a header, some customization options for a photography website. Of course the more the better but .. I need it free for now.

    I am quite new to WP, I hope I am not asking for too much, and I hope it is the right place to ask.

    There are thousands of themes in the WordPress theme repository, most of which do not have a Pro version associated with them. There’s a search field where you can search on the word photography to narrow your focus. The hardest part, of course, is finding the one that fits your needs.

    What I would do is spend the time to install and work with several different themes before settling on one. It is very easy to install a theme, and to switch back & forth between themes. To install a theme, just go to Appearance → Themes, click the Add New button and enter the name of the theme that you want to try out.

    Thanks, makes sense, will try a few just for practice, learning.
    Repository, I’ll look for that.
    Sure the paid ones are the most appealing, I guess that’s how I seem to find only the lite-pro combo.
